Online Video Advertising Growth in the Land Down Under

Thanks to the team at Marketing Magazine for pulling together such a good snapshot of how Australian’s are consuming online video.  See the infograph here.

It is good to see that online video is already commanding a more prominent place in our living rooms and a larger share of people’s time, and we will continue to see this figure grow as more Australian’s purchase internet connected TV’s and tablets and publishers make more video content available.

As such online video advertising is now starting to become a standard component of mainstream campaigns.  In a relatively short period of time we have seen the Australian ecosystem change and the emergence of advertising exchanges like the SpotXchange marketplace, DSPs, SSPs and Trading Desks.   We are now seeing brand advertisers committing more dollars to this channel as they find the ability to target their consumer easier, transparency and granularity of what they are buying as well as real time campaign optimization.  I think it is a very exciting time to be in video in Australia.
