How do I get started?

Publishers can make their ad inventory available to SpotXchange's aggregated advertiser network in three simple steps: 1) complete an online application; 2) log into your account, set up your channels and subchannels and their associated profiles; 3) begin calling the SpotXchange ad server whenever you need to serve an ad.

What exactly is "ad slot inventory?"

This refers to the sponsorship opportunities that SpotXchange traffic partners, publishers, and other video content owners make available to our marketplace. For example, a publisher web site that offers instructional golfing videos may elect to monetize that content with 15 second video ads that play before each requested video is shown. These advertising opportunities appear as inventory in the SpotXchange Marketplace. SpotXchange currently supports three types of video advertising – InStream (pre/mid/post roll), InnerStream (video banner overlays), and InGame (for casual games).

InnerStream for Publishers

How do I opt into the InnerStream ad program?

It’s very simple. Log into your SpotXchange Publisher account, either click to create a channel or edit an existing channel, scroll down to Ad Type, and select InnerStream. Configure the following:

  • Minimum Channel Bid
  • Minimum Network Bid
  • InnerStream Banner Frequency

Do I need to upgrade my current implementation in order to call InnerStream ads?

Most likely you will need to upgrade your current implementation in order to serve InnerStream ads. Please contact your publisher representative and/or Doug Render (doug@spotxchange.com), Director of Product Management at SpotXchange.

Can I call both InStream and InnerStream ads?

Yes, you can call both by checking both the InStream and InnerStream boxes when creating or editing your channels. You can test what works best for you and your site from a user satisfaction and monetization strategy and change your calls dynamically by editing your channel profiles. Your calls to the SpotXchange platform will automatically update based on your channel configuration.
